Getting started
From an empty account to your first semantic search in about five minutes: list, elements, training and API key.
This guide takes you from an empty account to your first search in about five minutes.
Step 1
Create your account
- 1
Register with your name, email and a password (minimum 8 characters).
- 2
You can update your profile or credentials at any time from the Account page.
Step 2
Create a list
- 1
Go to Lists and click "New list".
- 2
Give it a name and a description that explains what it contains — training uses the description as context.
- 3
Mark it as public if you plan to query it with an API key.
Step 3
Add elements
- 1
Open the list and click "Add element".
- 2
Fill in the text (what searches match against) and, ideally, a description.
- 3
Already have the data? Use "Import from file" to load a JSON file in one go.
Step 4
Train the list
- 1
Open the Trainings tab — your edits have left a pending training there.
- 2
Pick an embedding model and click "Train".
- 3
Wait for Completed: the training becomes "In use" and semantic search is live.
Step 5
Create an API key
- 1
Go to API keys and click "New key".
- 2
Label it after where it will be used (e.g. "Production").
- 3
Copy it right then: it is the only time it is shown in full (afterwards only its prefix is visible). Treat it like a password.
Step 6
Run your first search
- 1
Open the Search page, paste your key and pick your list.
- 2
Type a query — try a typo or a synonym to see fuzzy and semantic matching at work.
- 3
Inspect each result: combined score, score breakdown and the element params.
